Find my Ford Radio YouTube video and watch all 5 minutes before you buy. If you carefully scrape back the buttons old black paint into tidy rectangles, you’ll make a neater job than I did! My full length video on YouTube shows you how to do this. But as installations may be slightly different, you just will see how I did my Mustang.
My Experience with the S197 Ford Radio
On my custom build S197 Ford Mustang GT/CS Redfire, the CD player a Shaker 500/1000 has control buttons for SEEK x 2, TEXT/SCAN, AM/FM, CD, AUX and MUTE were fast wearing out. This was looking very scruffy! The US part number is 6R3T-18C815-GE or generic Ford 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 radio/CD MP3 players.
Authentic Font
I’ve carefully recreated the exact same “pad print” compacted type (font) style as the OEM Shaker, by using photos and Photoshop. Plus faint gray cutter guidelines for you to follow when you cut these stickers out with a scalpel or sharp knife. This keeps the cost down, as machine cutting is very expensive. Save $$. YOU HAVE TO CUT THEM OUT YOURSELF! So if in doubt watch the full 5 minute YouTube video.
